Gathering Parts for the ThermoElectric Device TEC

I have begun gathering, assembling the parts needed to make the TEC. These include the Peltier Chips, heat sinks and fans.

Peltier Chips: 5 TEC1-12706 91 watt and 5 TEC1-12709 137 watt Peltier ThermoElectric devices

Peltier Chips: 5 TEC1-12706 91 watt and 5 TEC1-12709 137 watt Peltier ThermoElectric devices

BTW, some other terms used for the same machine are….. Peltier module, , Peltier junction, thermoelectric device, thermoelectric module, TEC, TE module, TE cooler or ThermoElectric Air Conditioner
Inventory of the parts to make the TEC are below.

Quanity Number Watts Sink info
2 OTE-12706 91 watt Sinks 4″x4″x2″ each side
4 12706 91 watt heat sinks 6″X4″X4″ each side 4 In series
4 12706 91 watt heat sinks 6″X4″X4″ each side 4 In series
5 TEC1-12706 91 watt no
5 TEC1-12709 137 watt no
2 large heat sink 12 1/4″ x 4 3/4 x 4 3/8
1 large heat sink 17 5/8″ x 4 7/8 x 4 7/8
2 L4-1225M12S 1 watt Fan, 40 CFM 12 volt
3 3610PS-12T-B30 12 watt Fan, 34.5 CFM, 3.5″ 115AC volts
1 4715FS-12T-B50 24 watt Fan, 110CFM 4.5″ 115AC volts
2 XYW12038048BSS 30 watt Fan 135 CFM 4.5″ 48 volts

Plans for now are to use the 6″x4″x4″ sinks and turn them so that the fins are parallel end to end making a unit 12″ long by 4″ high and 4″ into the HVAC and 4″ into the underhood area. Possibly add the 2 larger heat sinks and attaching them to the double sinks on both the hot and cold sides. That would increase the depth into the HVAC to over 5″ and also into the underhood firewall area. It would also give a block closed tunnel to flow the air to be cooled and air to remove the heat.
