Changing The Rear Springs and Struts

The rear springs had to be replaced because of the added 800 plus pounds from the 2 rear battery boxes.
I had the rear springs made at Coil Spring Specialties 632 W. Bertrand
St. Mary’s, KS 66536 http://www.coilsprings.com/ . Their phone # is (785) 437-2025
It took about 6 weeks to get the order. They just asked make and model and how much more I was adding to the vehicle.

Both the rear struts were replaced. I hated to not replace them, being the extra weight will require best of struts. They are Monroe 71925ST Sensa-Trac not the cheaper Monroe Gasamatics. The Sensa-Tracs were about $60 each from Advanced Auto Parts.
I will need to get the rear aligned because the adjustment for the camber is in a slot at the lower strut to knuckle bolts.

So difference in ride height before the conversion verses after is, the front of the Saturn is an inch lower and the rear is .5 inch higher.
